Thoght for the New Year

“Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up, the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, Your Savior….Others died that you might live. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you.” Isaiah 43:1-4
Wow, what words of comfort of insurance. God promises to care for and protect those whom he has redeemed. When we pass through seasons of confusion and doubt, when our world is turn upside down, when all our dreams come crashing to the ground, we must experience the words of this passage, internalizing them deep within our heart and soul. He created us; he knows each of us by our name and calls us by it. He knows us personally, intimately, and we are precious and honored in his sight. When we understand the depth of his love for us, we’ll understand the reality that he will always keep this promises to us.
Thought for the New Year.

Father God, whatever we face, deep waters, great troubles, rivers of difficult, fires of oppression, we trust you because you are Lord, our God, the Holy One of Israel, and our Savior. No person or situation is greater than you! Your words are precious to us, Lord. Thank you for telling us that we are precious to you , so precious that you sent Jesus to die so that we could live, we praise you and thank you. Amen

Answering God's Call

In his faith Abraham was against idolatry and idol making, but that was not his crusade. Because of his faith, God led him into a promised land, into possessions and into the lineage that brought forth the Messiah. The call of God is always to something better keep that in mind!

God calls us into the joys and reality of eternal life. He calls us into purity of life and spirit, so that we may acceptably wall with Him. He calls us into a life of service and usefulness that brings glory to Himself as God. He calls us into the sweetest fellowship possible on this earth –the fellowship of the family of God!
If God takes away from us the old, wrinkled, beat-up dollar bill we clutch so desperately, it is only because He wants to exchange it for the whole federal mint, the entire treasury! He is saying, “I have in store for you all the resources of heaven. Help yourself!”

“The Lord came and stood there, calling as the other times, ‘Samuel! Samuel!’ Then Samuel said, ‘Speak, for your servant is listening.” 1Samuel 3:10

Prayer: What a wonderful God we serve! You are looking out for our very best, Lord, help us to loosen our hold on the things that are blocking the path of Your blessings.

Finding Time to Pray 11/10/2010

“As He was praying, the appearance of his face changed, and his clothes became as bright as a flash of lightning.” Luke 9:29 TNIV

Father God, as Jesus was praying, you revealed to Peter, James and John that Jesus was not just a great prophet but that He was the Son of the Living God. As we pray Father God, reveal to us who we are to you. Amen

Did You Hear the Thunder?

Back in 2007 it was raining so hard and thundering, very loud thunder. It was about 4:15A.M. I remember the time because I wake up at 4A.M. for my prayer time and devotion or just sit in the presence of the Lord. I could hear the rain pounding on my window. The loud thunder seem to shake my building. I shook and spoke with the same intensity as the thunder, “show your power God.” I thought to myself “the Lord God Almighty is angry about what happen yesterday.” It was senseless, crazy, just downright wicked. I started to cry and began to pray for the family, the young lady in the hospital and the world. I couldn’t stop crying or praying. It was still raining the thunder quite down some.

What happen was four young adults were just chilling in their car behind an elementary school in Newark, New Jersey. They were basically dragged out of their car by some thugs and shout execution style. One young lady survives to tell the story. Three of the four had student identification from Delaware State University. They had no previous criminal records. All four were good kids. Wicked just downright wicked. And that morning as I met with my Lord and Savior as I had been doing for two years before that August 4, 2007, I knew my Lord was angry. So I prayed and cried.

It was around 7A.M when the rain and thunder stop. But the streets were crazy. There was no electricity in my building. Power outages were scattered all over the city. The trains in my area were not running and other trains had serious delays. The buses were so crowded they couldn’t stop along their route to pick up other passengers. People had to get to work. They were yelling at each other, pushing each other and just single focus on what they had to do…make that meeting, get to work, open up my business, and make that phone call. Did anybody hear the thunder of the Lord this morning? Do you not know that the Lord is angry about those young college kids that were kill? HELLO!!!!!

“The Lord looks down from heaven
On the entire hum race;
He looks to see if anyone is truly wise,
If anyone seeks God.
But no, all have turned away;
all have become corrupt.
No one does good, not a single one!
Will those who do evil never learn?
They eat up my people like bread
And wouldn’t think of praying to the Lord. “ Psalm 14:24

Pray and Pray again!

Finding Time to Pray 11/09/2010

“Once when Jesus was praying in private and his disciples ere with him, he asked them, ‘Who do the crowds say I am?” Luke 9:18 TNIV

O Jesus, You are our Messiah and our King. In your name we find our hope, our peace, our consolation. To the last day of our life and beyond, we put our trust in you. Amen
