“Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,” Luke 18:1 NKJ
Father as we watch the world through the eyes of CNN and other news stations we patiently and persistently petition You Lord Jesus to bring justice to the world and to your people. We pray with faith that You Father God will do what You promised.

Looking for True Worshipers
I was listening to Christian music, can’t remember what song. I was cleaning the house just singing from my heart….at times just stopping, closing my eyes and singed out to the Lord. The Holy Spirit would fill up within me and I would just start crying tears of joy in the Lord. I worship the Lord with words of praise from my lips. I praised and worshiped until I would just drop, alone, in the house. Many of times since I have been in Charlotte I still praise and worship full of the Spirit until I drop.
I love to worship in Spirit and Truth. But, I have found that not everyone know the importance of praising the Lord. I am not judging because I didn’t always know myself. I would go to church on Sunday, sing some songs, give a shout of Amen to the preacher, go to bible study and that was my praise and worship.
But one day, I had a homework assignment, that lead me to a church that knew how to praise the Lord. I knew they were doing something right because the presence of the Lord was there. Well needless to say, I kept going back to that church and I became a member. I not only met the Lord at that church, but I met the Lord at my workplace, I met the Lord on the train, I met the Lord at home. I just stop meeting the Lord and just starting hanging out with the Lord 24/7.
I say this because I have visited a few churches and I am finding strange things are happening. There is a lack of real praise and worship. It must be known that any untrained, unprepared, unspiritual empty rattletrap of a person can start something “religious” and find plenty of followers who will listen and promote it! Beyond that, it may become very evident that he or she had never heard from God in the first place.
All of the examples we have in the Bible illustrate that glad and devoted and reverent worship is the normal employment of human beings. Every glimpse that is given us of heaven and of God’s created beings is always a glimpse of worship and rejoicing and praise – because God is who he is!
Because there is a lack of true worshipers, there is a lot of time spent in the churches just spinning wheels making a noise but not getting anywhere.
What are we going to do about this awesome, beautiful worship that God calls for? I would rather worship God than do any other thing I know of in all this wide world!
Prayer: Lord, just as You evicted the money changers from the Temple, I pray that You will cleanse churches from their self-centered, empty attempts at worshiping You.

Finding Time to Pray 10/12/2010
“He went on a little farther and fell face down on the ground. He prayed that, if it were possible, the awful hour awaiting him might pass him by.” Mark 14:35 NLV
Heavenly Father, we pray that we would have real prayer, the kind of prayer Jesus mentioned and modeled, realistic, spontaneous, down –to-earth communication with the living God that results in a relief of personal anxiety and a calm assurance that our God is in full control of our circumstances. Amen

Finding Time to Pray
Hi, I pray that everyone had a bless weekend. Just a reminder, we will be looking at what Jesus said about prayer and praying and the example that He left for us to follow. There will be a different verse everyday Monday thru Friday until December 31st.
“Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.”
Mark 13:33 NKJ
Father God we ask you for awareness and discernment to be a “watchman” for you. Help us to pray for others as you show your holy power before the eyes of all the nations.” Amen

Backslider and the Watchman Part 1
Tammy Jones was raised in a Christian home and made a personal commitment to Christ in high school. But when she went away to college, she quickly got caught up in the campus party lifestyle. She always intended to find a good church and a Bible study, but somehow it never happened. By the end of her freshman year, Cindy had the reputation of a party girl who could drink a lot of alcohol. By the time she graduated from college, few, if any, of her college friends even knew that she was a Christian. The Backslider
Sadly, Tammy Jones example isn't an isolated one. As believers in Jesus Christ, our lives will bear a witness—but our witness can be either positive or negative.
“This is what the Lord says: “Stop at the crossroads and look around, Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’ I posted watchmen over you who said, ‘Listen for the sound of the alarm’ But you replied, No! We won’t pay attention’” Jeremiah 6:16-17
Like many other prophets of the bible, Jeremiah urged the people to return to God's ways. But they refused to do so! Even though God had sent previous prophets, the “watchmen”, the people persisted in their sin. Rather than destroy all false idols, the Israelites had adopted many perverse pagan practices. Rather than trust the Lord to protect them, the Israelites had entered into dangerous foreign alliances. Yet, even while they snuggle on the edge of judgment, the Lord desires to see them turn back to Him.
(Shoes and clothes just a few of the false idols that use to be a part of my life. I once had 75 pair of shoes in my closet and three closets full of clothes and the mall was my alliances along with some stupid relationships. I spent more time getting dress and more money in the mall than I did with the Lord. People ask me now how can you go on so many mission trips….I stay out of the mall, anyway back to the word.)
In the above verse, we are given the image of a traveler who comes to a fork in the road. He has the opportunity to go anyway he desires, but God tells him to ask for the "old paths, where is the good way". Instead of just traveling blindly on, this traveler is to stop and ask directions.
The Lord wants His people to travel the right path. He wants them on a path that will lead them in His direction. While this word of correction was spoken to the Jews many years ago, there is a lesson in this verse for the modern church.
It is my opinion that the Lord would still have His people to ask for the old paths.

Finding Time to Pray 10/8/2010
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” Mark 11:24 NKJV
Father God, our prayers are often motivated by our own interests and desires. We like to hear that we can have anything. But Jesus prayed with your interest in mind. When we pray Father God, let your Spirit help us to express our desires, but let not our desires be above your will us. Help us Father that our prays will be focus on your plans and interest that you have for our lives. Amen
As water is to physical life, so prayer is to spiritual life. Prayer is the basic element that energizes and refreshes our spiritual life. It's not too much to say that prayer allows our spiritual life to exist-without it, we wither and crumble inside....E.M. Bounds

Watchman
Watchman One whose duty was to stand in the tower on the walls or at the gates of the city. He also patrolled the streets, and besides protecting the city and its inhabitants from violence, he was required to call out the hours of the night.
To look out, peer into the distance, spy, keep watch; to scope something out, especially in order to see approaching danger, and to warn those who are endangered. This verb occurs eighty times in the Bible. Often it is translated” watchmen,” referring to the king’s guards as in 1 Samuel 14:16 or to those who look out from a tower in the city wall as in 2 King 9:17-18. In other instances, it is spiritual watchmen, who look out, see danger and report to the people.
God’s prophets were also his “watchmen” to warn his people.
Jeremiah illustrates the leader’s job as a watchman. God appointed watchmen over His people to sound the trumpet in times of danger and to serve as His voice. A watchman provides an outstanding metaphor for a leader. Watchmen guard and guide those they supervise. They guard against anything that would endanger the vision. They guide those they oversee, encouraging them to continue on the path toward that vision. They watch out for danger and maintain quality control. They cry out warnings to those who drift from the vision. They commit themselves to finishing the task they began. Watchmen must possess strong moral fiber and must remain committed to a strong sense of right and wrong. Jeremiah served well as a watchman, even though he never convinced the masses to get on board with what was right. Were they backsliders that wouldn’t repent?

Backslide/Backsliding
BACKSLIDE to revert to sin or wrongdoing; to lapse morally or in the practice of spiritual obedience and responsibility. “Backsliding” is a term found mainly in the Book of Jeremiah, where the prophet refers to the lapse of the nation of Israel into paganism and idolatry. These texts stand as a timeless reminder of the capacity of God’s people to forget His grace and neglect His ways.
BACKSLIDINGS turning back, turning away; defecting; faithlessness, apostasy, disloyalty; reverting, backsliding. This noun is found twelve times in the Old Testament (NKJV), nine times in Jeremiah alone. The root word is shub, a verb which means to “turn, return, or repent.” If repentance is a “turning around,” backsliding is a “turning back,” or “turning away” from God. God gave a merciful invitation to the backslider in Jeremiah 3:12-15, 22. In this latter verse, God regards backsliding as a condition that requires healing.

Finding Time to Pray
“Keep alert and pray. Otherwise temptation will overpower you. For though the spirit is willing enough, the body is weak.” Mark 14: 38 NLT
Jesus, sometimes it is so hard to stay mentally and spiritually vigilant as we read your Word and pray. Forgive our state of sluggishness when it comes to praying and help us to center our hearts and minds on you. Amen

Finding Time to Pray
We get so busy in our daily lives that we don’t pray. We wake up and start running with the family and work. We are up early and go to bed late. We say “Thank you for this day Lord. Forgive me of my sins. Fill me with your Spirit and protect me and my family. Love you. Amen” Then the rest of the 15 plus hours we give to “I’m busy”. I am not going to tell you how or when to pray. But, what the Lord place on my heart to do is tell you what He said about prayer and to remind you how He was involved in prayer. I am going to give a scripture from the Gospels that involved Jesus and prayer. What he said, when He said it and His instruction to us about prayer. Starting today until December 31st,, Monday to Friday. On Fridays, I will give some extra readings on prayer that you can look up if you choose. God Bless.
“The next morning Jesus awoke long before daybreak and went out alone into the wilderness to pray” Mark 1:35
Jesus your faithfulness in prayer gives us an excellent example to follow. Guide us, Lord. Give us the strength and the will to imitate your careful attention to prayer. Amen

Be Exalted
God's gracious plan of salvation was put together to bring about the restoration of a right relationship between men and women and their Creator.
The disobedience and fall of Adam and Eve destroyed the proper Creator-creature relation, in which, unknown to them, their true happiness lay.
Many of us are interested in walking with God. We have discovered that such a life on this earth begins with a complete change in relationship between God and the sinner--a conscious and experienced change affecting the sinner's whole nature.
The atonement in Jesus' blood makes such a change judicially possible, and the working of the Holy Spirit makes emotionally satisfying.
We must begin with God--and God must be the center of all we are and all we do. "Be thou exalted" is plainy the language of victorious spiritual experience and central to the life of God in the soul!
"Heavenly Father, throughtout this weekend my praise for you will cntinually be on my lips. I am so grateful that You did not turn Your back on the human race when Adam and Eve disobeyed You. Instead, You already had a plan for a redemption in mind! Bless You Name!"

Don't Lose Your Salt
"Salt is good but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?"
Luke 14:34
Salt left in contact with damp soil loses its flavor and is good for nothing but to be graveled underfoot. So it is with Christians who lose their ability to "flavor" the world with goodness and righteousness. Nothing is so useless and worthless as an inconsistent and powerless Christian. I posted a video on my facebook page with some comments that I know folks were saying "she's going off again.”

I started thinking about Ezekiel. Oh how Ezekiel warned Gods' people but they did not listen. All throughout the book of Ezekiel the Lord of Host warn the people. But they would not listen. Read Ezekiel 14 -16 just three chapters or start from the beginning. In chapter 15 the Lord talks about the Parable of the Useless Vine/useless burnt wood. Can it be used for anything? (Useless Christian)The end of Chapter 15 talks about how the Lord will turn his face against his people. Ezekiel's message is similar to Isaiah's "Song of the Vineyard" Isa.5:1-30, a message of judgment against Israel. The grapevine has no value as wood for lumber. Ezek. 15:2, its only use is its fruit. If a vine bears no fruit, its only other function is as firewood. The nation was Judah swept away by King Nebuchadnezzar.
Who will sweep away our land because the salt has lost its flavor?
(If you don’t know how to share the Gospel, send me an email. If you don’t live in Charlotte, I will lead you to a place that will teach you.)

Our Will Must Surrender
"Don't your realize that you becomethe slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to in, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteou living." Romans 6:16
It needs to be said that a world of confusion result from trying to believe without obeying. Nothing genuine has been done in a man or woman's life until his or her will has been surrendered in active obedience. The Christian doctrine of obedience to God and to His will is now largeley neglected in todays religious circles, many church folks seem to feel that our obligatin to obey has been discharged by the act of believing in Jesus Christ at the beginning of our Christian lives. We need to remember that "the will is the seat of true religion in the soul."
A mere passive surrender may be no surrender at all. Any real submission to the will of God must include willingness to take orders from Him from that time on.
The filling of the Holy Spirit is only possible to thoe who obey Him in all things.

The Conditions of Peace
"The jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. The he brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" Acts 16:29-30
In a world like ours, with conditions being what they are, what should a serious-minded man or woman do?
First, accept the truth concerning yourself. You do not go to a doctor to seek consolation, but to find out what is wrong and what to do about it.
Then seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Seek through Jesus Christ a right relationship to God and then insist upon maintaining a right relationship to your fellow man.
Set about reverently and honestly to amend your doings. Magnify God, mortify the flesh, simplify your life. Take up your cross and learn of Jesus Christ, to die to this world that He may raise you up in due time.
If you will do these things in faith and love, you will know peace-the peace of God that passes all understanding.
You will know joy. You will know too the comfort of the indwelling Spirit of God, for you have sought to do the will of God.
Dear Lord, teach us what it means to both live in this world and at the same time "die to this world" for the sake of Christ.

Prayer Request
Israel The intense half-century of conflict between Arabs and Israelis urgently needs resolution. Pray for a just, lasting and adequately guaranteed settlement. Animosity against Christianity is a barrier to be overcome in Jewish minds. Christian nations are seen to be destroyers of the Jewish nation as in the Holocaust. Pray that the Gospel may be understood as a fulfillment of their Jewish heritage and that a widespread turning to their Messiah might come. Pray also that all attempts to limit freedom of religion and to deny the Jewish identity of Messianic believers may fail. Pray for Israeli Evangelicals largely Messianic Jews and Arabs who are Israeli Citizes Pray for Boldness in witness despite difficulties. Pray for effective leadership and pray for safety for their families.
Palestine Pray for a fair apportionment of the water resources between Israel and Palestine. Pray for the unresolved future for the Palestinian exiles...two million live in 61 refugee camps in surrounding lands. Pray that the Christian Palestinans may stand for and witness to the Truth, and be protectected amid rising levels of intimidation by their Muslim neighbors. Pray for the safety of their families. Pray for Peace.

Jamaica has sunk into a morass of social and economic problems that appears insoluble. It has one of the worlds highest homicide rates in the world. Violence in society is made worse by the powerful drug cartels and their distribution networks in both Jamaica and the United States. Over 37% of cocain-carrying 'mules' arrested entering the USA arrive from Jamica. Half the male population are drug-abusers. Pray that government and church leaders may have the courage, moral intergrity and dertermination to turn the country back from sin and to God. The spirtual temperature of Jamaica affects that of the whole Caribbean. Pray that the Jamaica Association of Evangelicals may be a model of unity and cooperation to weak and struggling associations in other countries. Pray also that the 15 Bible schools and seminaries in Jamica, which serve the whole Caribbean, may be powerhouses of spiritual life and missions vision.
Also, please pray for Jamaica during this time of State of Emergency. Pray that the violence will come to an end. That the drug lords will be removed and that Jesus will do a work in their hearts. Pray for peace on that Island.

Nightly Prayer
Young people present one of the major areas of spiritual battle today. The bitter fruits of humanistic philosophies are now being harvested in disorientation, spiritual vulnerability, moral decay, rejection of authority, widespread drug abuse and mindless violence. God raised up such organizations as Teen Challenge and others to combat this confusion and make a mighty impact on the world. Now God is also raising up a new generation of movements for this century-pray for such groups. Pray for the youth. The next generation could be America's most traumatized ever if there is not a decisive work of God's Spirit. Pray for young people expecially in the decaying inner cities- many of those in thier 20s are in prison. Drug abuse and AIDS are rampant, and murder is the major cause of death for the African Americans in these cities between the ages of 15-34 years old. Pray for the cycle of unemployment, poverty, family instability and crime be broken.

Christianity is not impacting the nation as it should. The USA needs revival, yet the word 'revival' has been debased to mean slick mass evangelism and theatrics. The need of the hour is a true revival with conviction of sin, repentance and an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Please pray for such.
The need for biblical holiness in a time when Christians display little diference in values and lifestyle to non-Christians. Superficiality and materialism are more characteristic than dedication and passion for Jesus and doing His will. The sucession of high-profile falures of televangelists, Christian leaders in the church and in politic and the high rate of divorce among church-goers all underline the need. Pray that Christians may repent of carnality, be revived and help to change rather than mimic culture.

Evening Prayer
The Pilgrim Fathers were determined to establish a land in which they were free to exercise their Christian faith. On that foundation has developed one of the largest and most dynamic Christian movements in history.
Missionaries:In the unevangelized world, there are 20,500 full-time Christian workers and 10,200 foreign missionaries.
In the evangelized non-Christian world, there are 1.31 million full-time Christian workers.
In the Christian world, there are 306,000 foreign missionaries to other Christian lands. Also in the Christian world, 4.19 million full-time Christian workers 95 percent work within the Christian world.
Request: Pray that the work of the Gospel will continue throughout the world.
Pray that more Christians will get out of their comfort zone and answer the call to Go.
Pray that the growth of missionaries will be in the non-Christian world.
God Bless
Kim

The God Who Sees Me
I was partying that night and should not have been on the back of that truck, but he had my bag with my keys, ID, address and my money. So I jumped on the back of the truck as he took off. I was yelling "give me my bag." It was abut 2AM and very dark. He drove about three blocks as I continue to yell "give me my bag." I had not yet excepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I knew of Jesus, but He was not the center of my heart or anything else in my life. Finally he threw my bag out the window of the moving truck and I jumped and rolled on the concrete road, bruising my head, elbow, and angle. I think blacked out for about 30 seconds. A man appeared over me in a black suit and combed back hair. (I don't know why I remembered that so clearly) He looked like he step out of a GQ magazine cover. He looked down at me and asked me if I was okay. I mumble yes. He asked if I wanted to go the hospital. he said "I saw what happen." I answer as I was getting up. "I'll be alright, I need my bag." He walked about three steps and picked up my bag and gave it to me. I said thank you . I was still a little daze as I finally got to my feet. I turned toward him but he was gone. Now, there was no car in the street. I was in the middle of the street. On one side was a park and on the other was a community center building that was closed and locked up. I looked up and down the street and it was completely empty, not a soul in sight. As I looked around again, I knew I was saved by an angel. While I was in sin, Jesus still love me enough to save me. Twenty years later I have travel around the world telling the story of Jesus and his love.
Genesis 16:13 Thereafter, Hagar referred to the Lord, who had spoken to her as "the God who sees me" for she said, "I have seen the one who sees me."
Lord, you are as Hagar says "the God who sees me." That is both a comfort and a caution for you see my tears and sadness, but you also see my pride, contempt, and rebellion. Make me aware of your loving watchful eyes today.
