Jeremiah 29:11

I was at work one morning and a young lady came into the pantry. We spoke and she said she will be transferring to New Jersey, so I wouldn’t be seeing her around. So I wish her well and told her I would be going on a mission trip so if I don’t see her before she left to be well and God Bless. She asked me where I was going and I told her Guyana. She then said what I do makes all this insignificant. I told her I just do what I love to do, that you have to do what you love. She stated “I don’t know what I love to do" and she walked away.

I realized that I didn’t always know what I loved to do. There were things that made me happy for a time. But I didn’t have a passion for them. It wasn’t God’s plan. It is the Lord that has the plan for our lives. When we execute His plan He gives us the passion for it along with the joy in doing it.

Do you have a passion for the work you do? Does your work bring you joy? Is your job a means to do the work that you really love? Or do you go day to day just living. No passion, no joy, no purpose? What and who plans are you following for your life?
