Obedience is far better than sacrifice

My transition from New York to Charlotte--I settled in my temporary new home unpacking and working my new schedule: up at 5 A.M. instead of 4 A.M., devotion, prepare breakfast for my grand-children and my pregnant daughter, who quickly reminds me how different I am with breakfast from when she was a kid, "whatever." A week goes by without me following up on what the Lord told me to do. Go to Carmel Baptist Church in Matthews and sit and wait and prepare to launch a Homeless Children Ministry. Instead, I got caught up with my family day to day activities, which is not to hard to do when the activities includes grandchildren. Not wanting to disappoint my daughter, I went to her church of worship looking at the needs that her church had that fit the gifts that the Lord gave me; instead of going where the Lord told me to go. As I had my prayer time, devotion and worship to the Lord, I asked him, "why are you silent and not guiding me?" If it is one thing I know and that is I have a very close personal relationship with my Heavenly Father. I know that He is with me every minute of the day and night. I also know when He is not please with me. When I ask a question my Heavenly Father will answer me. He does not keep me guessing. So when I asked "why are you silent?" His answer was...'you are not doing what I told you to do. Sometimes we ask the Lord to guide us lead us and then we go off and do our own thing. Sometimes we are disobedient and do not do what He tells us to do. We get wrapped up in the days affairs. As the tears rolled down my face and I asked for forgiveness, I started to make preparation for Sunday Service at Carmel Baptist Church in Matthews. I felt better and the Spirit of Worship fell upon me.

But Samuel replied, “What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Obedience is far better than sacrifice. Listening to him is much better than offering the fat of rams. 1Samuel 15:22
